From the moment Backyard stepped on the scene, they took the moniker ” the bad boys of go go” and have lived up to it. Keepin the integrity of the street, they represent the hardcore go go fan. In their early years they were considered rebels who would stop a show if the sound wasn’t to their satisfaction, or if the crowd or promoter needed a little lesson in respect.  Their signature rugged sound epitomizes the adjective used to describe the zone a live band enters when every musician and every vocalists mesh cohesively. The Locals call this “crankin”, and thats exactly what the Backyard band does, Crank! Their sound is the blueprint for the faster tempo of todays younger bands. The band includes; Big G (Lead Talker) Weensey (vocals) LJ (vocals) Lysette TiTi (female vocalist) Los (rapper) Buggy (Drummer) Hot Sauce (congos) Nate (Bass Guitar) Bob (Lead Guitar)Mike (keyboard) E.B. (Keyboard) Marcus (Keyboard).  Backyard has performed alongside a host of mainstream stars including: Scarface, Devin the Dude, Bun B of U.G.K, and Slim Thug to say the least. Thier frontman Big G is also known as “Slim Charles” from HBO’s critically acclaimed series “The Wire”.
